I am so glad that you are here! I believe that therapy is one of the most empowering things that anyone can do for themselves and their family. There is no right or wrong reason to go to therapy; we all have things that we can process and work through with the help of a therapist. I consider it such an honor to be with you on your journey towards healing and personal growth!
I grew up in Springfield, Missouri where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Missouri State University. I also hold a Master’s of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Arkansas and a Master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. In 2012, I obtained a Certification in Play Therapy from MidAmerica Nazarene University. I worked as an elementary school counselor from 2006-2023 in both the Independence and Liberty School Districts. In addition to school counseling, I have experience working as a mental health therapist at a pediatric clinic, an adjunct professor for MidAmerica Nazarene University and as a private practitioner for the last three years.
During my 18 years of experience in working in the mental health field, I have worked with such issues as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions and school issues. I use many modalities such as play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy and a client centered approach and will work with you on what your needs are and tailor the treatment modality to best fit your treatment goals.
